It seems like everyone and their mother, including Kanye West, is talking about Beck since his big Album of the Year win at last night's Grammys.
And even though the Morning Phase singer took home two awards Sunday, many people still seem somewhat unfamiliar with the music superstar, even though he's been making music for over two decades.
So who exactly is Beck and what's his backstory? Here are five important things you should know about Beck (listen up Kanye, you should read this).

1. Stats: Beck hails from Los Angeles and was born Bek David Campbell. At 44 years old, he's released 12 studio albums. He's also a Cancer.2. He's Married to a Famous Sibling: Beck is married to actress Marissa Ribisi, the twin sister of actor Giovanni Ribisi, who's appeared in films like Dazed and Confused, True Crime, Pleasantville and The Brady Bunch Movie.
3. His Religion: Like John Travolta, Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley, Beck is a Scientologist. "My father has been a Scientologist for about 35 years, so I grew up in and around it," he revealed in 2005. He's also publicly praised the religion for their "humanitarian causes."
4. He Is a "Real Artist": Although Kanye apparently doesn't consider Beck a "real artist," he is. Beck first garnered fame in the early '90s because of his sonically experimental lo-fi style of recording music—as well as his hit song "Loser." In 2012, the musician released Song Reader, an "album" that was published as a book of sheet music and art. And if that wasn't enough to impress you, Beck can play more than 12 musical instruments, including the guitar, drums, sitar, banjo and glockenspiel.
5. He's a Real Gentleman: Unlike Kanye, Beck is humble and extremely gracious. Following Kanye's rude stunt at last night's Grammys, Beck admitted he wasn't miffed at all over the rapper's insults. "You can't please everybody. I still love him and think he's genius," Beck said. "I aspire to what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"
