Lana Del Rey Taking Her Piece Of The Pie In Style, Shares The ‘Billboard Power 100’ Cover With Kanye And Grainge

It is rare to see the modest and always lovely, not to mention chic, Lana Del Rey in the company of anything but modest and equally as fashionable Kanye West. It is equally as rare to see the “Stronger” rapper share the spotlight with anyone, yet he gracefully gave up a corner of the cover shot for the Billboard Power 100 cover to Lana and happily allowed Universal CEO Lucian Grainge to perch behind them in order for the magazine to highlight the successes of the three.

Del Rey looked as radiant as ever and stayed true to her magnetic boho-vintage style for the shoot, as Daily Mail relays that “Lana went vintage in a chic black fur-trim gown that generously hugged her curves and fell off her shoulders. Her plump beige lip and jade green ring added a splash of colour to the photo shoot.”
Kanye and Lucian were coordinated in dark suits, however, Kanye perpetuated his reputation for standing out as he rolled up his sleeves of his blazer and threw on an edgy top surely as a means to maintain his GQ “most stylish man” status.
The suited musical powerhouses had Del Rey in stitches at times during the shoot and these candid moments were also captured, demonstrating that there is some humor behind the seemingly ceaseless deadpan stare of Kanye. Who knew?

Del Rey was not shy about gushing over Grainge, who happens to be the noteworthy exec that makes the creative and strategic decisions when it comes to her musical career as well as many other artists, including Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, and Ariana Grande. E! Online notes Lana’s words.
“Lucian has such an extensive knowledge of music history, yet his eye is always on the future. As artists, we’re lucky he’s at the helm.”
Grainge held steady at the no. 2 spot in last year’s issue and has rightly taken the top rung this time around.
Del Rey is set to make an appearance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, though, unfortunately, she was not nominated. However, Greg Kurstin, producer of her track “Money Power Glory,” is up for Producer of the Year. Lana has arrived in LA and is planning to attend and support the hopeful Grammy recipient.
With Paul McCartney collaborations and a performance expected by the two involving Rihanna at the Grammy’s, not to mention his Adidas collaboration in talks to be unveiled at New York Fashion Week, Mr. West has got a few good things going on.
Billboard did well when they selected Del Rey, West, and Grainge for their Power 100 cover.

Grammy Awards will deliver music with messages

The times are always a-changin' in pop music, and the world around it. And the people who bring you the Grammy Awards say that Sunday's ceremony will reflect those dynamics.
"A fair amount of social commentary" will be incorporated into the performances, says Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy, which stages the event (CBS, live at 8 p.m. ET/tape-delay PT). "Different writers and artists have different points of view about issues and concerns. We like to elevate those thoughts and put them in context. ... It's appropriate for the Recording Academy to put a spotlight on what artists are thinking."

Alesso And Calvin Harris’s Newest Hit ‘Under Control’ Is Already Over A Year And A Half Old (Listen)

When Alesso and Calvin Harris first debuted their newest track “Under Control” a few weeks ago, something seemed a little fishy. Well, after some searching and some friendly help, it turns out that “Under Control” sans Theo Hutchcraft‘s vocals happens to be over a year and a half old.

When EDC first made its way to New York back in 2012, Alesso graced the main stage with a massive set. During that set, Alesso did a track mixed with the vocals of “Wild One Two” by David Guetta.

If you look at the Youtube video below, you can easily identify the track as the beat for “Under Control.”

With that being said, one begins to ponder; if the track was already made, what did Calvin Harris do on it?

As fans, we will probably never know, but adding a name like Calvin Harris on to anything, even if you’re Alesso, will help boost its popularity immensely. Check out the video below and let us know how you feel about this discovery!

David Guetta debuts double-screen video for ‘Dangerous’

TORONTO — David Guetta has debuted a mind-blowing double-screen interactive music video for his latest single “Dangerous.”
Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, the seven-minute video features Guetta and vocalist Sam Martin along with actor James Purefoy and Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean.
After a few easy set-up steps, the video can be viewed simultaneously on a computer screen and mobile device. The content on both screens sync up.

For example, when Guetta is seen making a phone call on the video shown on a computer screen, the image and sound of an incoming call appears on the mobile device.
Also, at certain points in the video, a line appears on the right-hand side as a cue to hold the mobile device up alongside. The content then straddles the two screens.
The groundbreaking music video also serves as an advertisement for champagne brand G.H. MUMM.
“Dangerous” comes from Guetta’s new album Listen, which also features collaborations with John Legend, Emeli Sandé, Sia, Nicki Minaj and The Script.
It is the sixth album from the 47-year-old French DJ and producer.
To experience the double-screen video, have a computer and a mobile device ready and click here.
