Why interrelate fingers to have luck?

There are two theories. The first of the origin of this gesture leads in pre-Christian cultural traditions of Western Europe, according to which the point where fingers crossed stay good spirits: the crucifixion of your thumb with a friend prayer meant for the fulfillment of his desires.

For the second theory, somewhat more reliable, this gesture was born among the first Christian communities, who were forced to preach in their secret cult.

To know one another, Christians crucified fingers with those of another believer.

In particular, they do thumb and forefinger are L-shaped, big fingers between them contacted and index fingers forming cross symbol fish (Ichthys, an acronym of "Jesus Christ, Son of God Saviour") .

Fingers of the same hand began to cross over Hundred Years' War (1337-1453) to "call" divine protection during battle.
